This chapter of your life needs to be documented beautifully

Pregnancy is such a special time; a maternity photo shoot will capture the wonder and excitement and mark this new chapter of your life. It will also create a visual record for your baby; showing how much they were loved before they arrived into the world.

I adore these special sessions, whether you want one as an intimate, solo shoot or with your other half, they’re a really special time to capture. My style of maternity photography is relaxed and natural with a gentle editorial feel. My aim is to help you record a visual story of this moment. My London Maternity Sessions can happen in the home, where you can be comfortable and take advantage of a wardrobe change! Or we can head outdoors to a local park; golden hour would be a lovely time for this, surrounded by the lovely colours and texture of nature.

We'll discuss ideas before we meet to make the experience personal to you. This could be a walk with your partner in your local park or a morning at home preparing your baby's nursery. There's no need to pose awkwardly and endlessly caress your bump. Instead, the session will flow organically with some gentle direction as and when needed. I'll provide space to savour the special memories as they unfold.

I offer Maternity as a stand-alone shoot or why not add a mini maternity session onto a Newborn Lifestyle booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to take maternity photographs?

Unlike some maternity photographers, I believe in capturing this moment when it feels right to do so. This will be different for everyone - for a variety of reasons. However, in most cases, this is usually during your 7th or 8th month of pregnancy, between 28-36 weeks. During this time, your belly will start to be nice and round and you should hopefully be feeling good and comfortable. After this point in your pregnancy, you may start to feel a little more tired and uncomfortable moving around. Your baby may also make an early appearance with most babies arriving at some time between 37 and 41 weeks. If you are nearing the end of your pregnancy and are yet to book your shoot, I may have last-minute availability. Please don't feel you are too late if this is the case.

Do you offer maternity photo shoots for couples?

Of course - this is an important moment for you both! I love spending time with couples helping them to freeze this moment in time - that's why I particularly love to document everyday moments in places that are meaningful. It's also good to remember you are not only recording your life before baby but also a visual record of a time they will never be able to see for themselves. These photographs will show how much they were loved, even before you were able to hold them in your arms.

Can our maternity session involve our older child?

There is a certain romance to this in-between time. My heart and camera are ready to see and capture your family as it is - right now. Just imagine showing these moments to your children one day. They'll feel the love you had for them in each and every chapter of their lives.

Inspired by the simple sweetness of the every day, treasured childhood memories and the beauty of natural light. I love to capture genuine and emotive images of real family connections; joyful and playful moments that need to be remembered for always.

What should I wear for my maternity photo shoot?

Your personal style reflects who you are so I'm an advocate for wearing clothes you feel most comfortable in. It's important to look back at the photographs and see you - rather than a person you don't recognise. Before your shoot, I will send you a thorough guide so if you feel you would like a more 'polished' look to the photographs I can offer advice. For example, you might want to consider choosing colours and shades that work well with the backgrounds we are shooting against.

There is also no need to feel you have to get your 'bump out' or only wear underwear for the session. The main thing is that you feel comfortable and relaxed in the moment.
